I’m back! With the first post in well over 7 months….shit….has it been that long already!? This album covers just a tiny sample of the photos I got in Europe this year – Including photos from Soundwave Festival 2012!

8 Months

8 Months, 5,000 Photos, 10 Countries.
It’s seriously rough and really badly compressed but here is a stop motion film of my last 8 Months on the road…please forgive the quality.

Some of you will know, I originally started this journey with a fairly decent Micro 4thirds camera – The Olympus Pen, which got stolen in my first month of travel! Depression soon wore off as I knew that my next purchase would be a serious upgrade to a professional camera. Fast forward 5 Months later and I’ve bought myself a Canon 7D + Sigma 50mm lens (with a Tokina 11-16mm on the way). Prizes for anyone who can guess what I will be getting up to with those lens’.
For anyone who is wondering that tripod is the TrekTech T-Pod which I can’t plug enough!

Transpotting Vol. I

…………………………………………………………
This collection has been growing for quite some time now. Transport in all forms that I’ve shot while traveling in South America & Australasia. I’m excited about this series developing through Asia. Everything here is mostly from South America, with some bangers from New Zealand & dead cars from Oz thrown into the mix. ✈

I’ve now set up my store ”TimeCapsule” over at Society6 – http://society6.com/TimeCapsule A fantastic site where you can buy and sell art prints. There’s so much good work up over there. I’m happy to have finally got some work up with them. More prints will be coming, once I can access all my work, which is stuck on my mac formatted hard drive (I can’t access anything on this Colombian Notebook!)

The last place I visited in South America came out trumphs. Valparaíso is a graffiti lover’s paradise, it’s totally legal and its filled with some of the best I’ve seen in a long time. It’s a beautiful city, but also very very dark. I took more photos in one day than ever before, everything seemed photogenic here…and its run by dogs (see latest updates on All Dogs Go To Heaven, in South America…)

The Road to Santiago…

The road to Santiago was a trcherous one. On our first attempt we drove 4hours from Mendoza to the boarder of Chile, but we had to turn back due to bad weather covering the roads. Our second attempt the following day eventually ended in success despite a 5 hour wait at the boarder with the fast and furious 5 + good friends to keep spirts high.

I’ve just got to Santiago, Chile and I thought it was time to do a retrospective of some photos I took in Brazil around 5 months ago before I had really kicked things off with this photo blog. I stumbled across this photo of some kids in Rocinha favela in Rio de Janeiro. I didn’t really take notice of it at first, but now it’s one of my favorites from South America. It was taken with the Olympus Pen that got stolen shortly after in Manaus in north Brazil…

Inca Ruins in Moray, Cuzco, Peru

…………………………………………………………
Moray is a town in Peru approximately 50 km Northwest of Cuzco near the town of Maras that has a large complex of unusual Inca ruins. These include most notably several enormous terraced circular depressions that were perhaps used to study the effects of different climatic conditions on crops. The depth of the pits (the largest is about 30 m deep) creates a temperature gradient of as much as 15° C between the top and the bottom. As with many other Inca sites, it also has a very sophisticated irrigation system for providing the plants with water. -Wikipedia
